FAITH POWERED BY ACTION

A family cannot be restored without first having their most basic immediate needs met.

MISSION

We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3), charitable corporation whose mission is to restore communities one family at a time through giving.   Families make up communities and if equilibrium is restored in the the family unit then the community will be restored.

The mission of FIG is so important because it provides hope in a time of turbulence, instability and desperation.  Hope is important because it changes negative perceptions of challenging situations to positive perceptions.  Positive perceptions of challenging situations fosters positive change in society because it incites the imagination and generates creativity for doing things differently for the betterment of the greater good.  Purposeful living is the outcome of hope during difficult times.  When a ray of hope is given to help someone overcome hardship, they easily empathize with others suffering the same fate and purposefully take action to show love to their neighbor through giving.

PHILOSOPHY

"Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead."

We believe that faith is powered by action.  A family cannot be restored without first having their most basic immediate needs met.  Once their immediate needs have been met, not only will that begin the restoration process but it will also incite families to volunteer to help restore other families thereby restoring the community.

HISTORY

Faith In God Family Restoration Corporation began planning and development in April 2010 and became incorporated in June 2011.   The principle of FIG is based upon the parable of the fig tree which demonstrates that when you have faith, take action and believe God for your blessing, you will receive it.

The  Founders, Lucress Irizarry, Charmagne Newman, Stephanie Lofton and F. Charles Irizarry formed the organization because they shared the passion for helping others through giving goods and services.  They recognized the negative effects of the economy on their community some of which are unemployment, increase in poverty, loss of healthcare benefits, inability to pay for basic necessities like food, rent/mortgage, utitlites, transportation, etc.  All of the Founders directly experienced one or more of the negative effects just mentioned at some point in their lives.
